Loox Alternatives for Reviews That Actually Convert
Loox bills by the order, and the bill keeps climbing long after the reviews stop arriving. Here are 7 alternatives checked on the Shopify App Store today, the per-order math, and the one thing no review app fixes: where the proof sits on the page.

Your review app bills you by the order. Your reviews don't arrive by the order.
That mismatch is why founders go looking for loox alternatives, usually the month the Loox invoice stops looking like a widget fee and starts looking like a payroll line.
Here's the short answer. For most Shopify stores, Judge.me is the swap: unlimited photo and video reviews and a Loox importer on the free plan. If you sell visual products and want the prettiest widget, Okendo or Junip. If you're small and want cheap photo reviews, Fera starts at $9 a month. Every one of them was opened on the Shopify App Store today, October 2, 2026.
But here's the thing. The app is the easy part. I've watched stores switch review apps three times and never move the reviews to the one spot on the page where they close a sale. We'll get to that, because it's worth more than the app.
What does Loox actually cost in 2026?
Credit first. Loox is a good app. Its App Store listing showed 4.9 stars from 9,738 reviews when I opened it today, Built for Shopify badge, launched October 2015. Photo and video reviews by email, sync to Google Shopping, Meta Shops and TikTok Shop, a referral program, and AI for sorting, highlights, translations and replies.
The price is where the conversation starts.
The listing shows three plans. Free, for up to 500 orders. Convert at $49.99 a month, with "300 orders included in base price + $50 per additional 300 orders." Unlimited at $299.99 a month, 14-day trial on paid plans. Loox's own pricing page calls the free tier Beginner and lists the 500 orders as a total, so it's a long trial, not a plan you live on.
Here's the math on Convert, computed from the listing's formula:
| Orders a month | Extra 300-order blocks | Convert bill |
|---|---|---|
| 300 | 0 | $49.99 |
| 900 | 2 | $149.99 |
| 1,500 | 4 | $249.99 |
| 3,000 | 9 | $499.99 |
| 6,000 | 19 | $999.99 |
Past 1,500 orders a month, Unlimited at $299.99 is cheaper than Convert. I didn't find a cap printed on the listing, so I'm showing what the formula produces.
And notice what the meter counts. Orders. A review app's cost to serve you is the emails it sends and the widget it loads. Most buyers never post a photo, so a 1,200-order month doesn't triple your reviews. It triples your bill.
A review app priced by the order is a tax on your sales, paid to a widget that had nothing to do with most of them.
What are the best Loox alternatives?
Every listing below was opened on the Shopify App Store today. All eight carry the Built for Shopify badge. Prices move, so check again before you install.

Judge.me: the default swap
Judge.me is where most founders leaving Loox land. 47,885 reviews at 5.0 stars. The free plan includes unlimited photo and video reviews, Google rich snippets, and an importer that names Loox, Yotpo, Amazon and Etsy. The $15 Awesome plan adds AI replies and summaries, 16 widgets, Google Shopping, Meta and TikTok sync, with a 15-day trial. The widget is plainer than Loox's. That's the trade.
Okendo: the polished widget
Okendo is the one I'd show a fashion or beauty founder who loves how Loox looks. Photo and video reviews, attributes buyers can filter by (fit, skin type, scent strength), AI summaries, loyalty bolted on. Pricing is order-gated like Loox: free to 50 orders a month, Essential $19 to 200, Growth $119 to 1,500, Power $299 to 3,500. Run your order count against those tiers before you fall for the demo.
Junip: unlimited, by design
Junip prices the opposite way to Loox. The free plan lists unlimited orders and unlimited review requests. Core is $29 a month for requests with media, Growth $79 for Google Shopping, TikTok Shop and Shop app syndication, Premium $299 with an AI sales agent. It imports from Yotpo, Judge.me and Okendo.
Fera: the cheap photo-review app
Fera is the budget pick that doesn't look like one. Startup at $9 a month for 200 orders, Small at $29 for 2,000, Medium at $99 for 20,000, with a 60-day trial. Under 2,000 orders a month, this is the lowest per-order cost in the table.
Yotpo, Stamped and REVIEWS.io: the platforms
These three sell a stack, not a widget. Yotpo runs free to 50 orders, then Starter at $15 and Pro at $119. Stamped starts at $23 a month for 200 orders and climbs to $199 for 5,000. REVIEWS.io meters invites instead of orders: 25 free a month, 50 on Launch at $19, 500 on Launch Plus at $45. Pick one when you want reviews and loyalty under one login.
Which Loox alternative fits which store?
Under 500 orders a month: Judge.me free, or Fera at $9. You lose nothing Loox gives you except the referral program.
Visual products where the widget is part of the brand: Okendo if you can carry its tiers, Junip if you'd rather pay flat.
Over 1,500 orders a month on Loox Convert: you're paying $249.99 or more. Junip Core at $29 or Judge.me Awesome at $15 does the same job for a tenth of it.
How do you switch from Loox without losing your reviews?
Reviews are the one asset in your store you can't buy back. Four steps:
- Export everything from Loox first, reviews, photos, videos and the product mapping. Open the export before you touch the app.
- Duplicate your live theme. Install the new app on the copy.
- Import, then spot-check 10 products, especially ones you've renamed since the reviews came in.
- Uninstall Loox, then search the theme for leftover code. Shopify's store speed guide says uninstalling an app doesn't automatically remove its code from your theme, and lists installed apps among the biggest factors in store performance.
Then run Google's PageSpeed test on your top product page, before and after. Same rule we applied to Vitals app alternatives.
Switching review apps without moving the reviews is repainting the frame and leaving the painting in the attic.
Why won't a better review app fix a page that can't sell?
I'll admit something. For years I judged review apps by the widget. Big photos, nice carousel, done. Wrong lens.
The lift from reviews is front-loaded. Northwestern's Spiegel Research Center found that purchase likelihood for a product with five reviews is 270% greater than for one with none, that the benefit falls off fast after the first five, and that verified buyer badges improve the odds of purchase by 15%. PowerReviews reports that 45% of shoppers won't purchase a product with no ratings or reviews, and 60% turn to user-generated imagery to learn about a product they've never bought. We pulled those studies apart in do product reviews increase Shopify conversion rate and how many reviews you need to convert.
Five reviews. Verified. Visible. None of that is about the app.
A review at the bottom of the page is wallpaper. A review beside the add-to-cart button, chosen because it answers the exact objection the buyer is holding, is a witness. Loox, Judge.me and Okendo all give you a wallpaper widget by default. The witness is a decision you make.
Run the math on a store like this, a hypothetical skincare brand selling a $42 vitamin C serum, reviews in a carousel under the description. Conversion rate 1.5%, average order value $42. That means revenue per visitor is $0.63. On 10,000 visitors, that's 150 orders and $6,300.
Now the page gets rebuilt around the buyer's silent question, "will this sting my skin?" The three reviews that answer it move up beside the button, one with a photo, verified badge on. A 2-pack becomes the default offer. Conversion rate 2.4%, average order value $56. Revenue per visitor is $1.34. On the same 10,000 visitors, that's 240 orders and $13,440.
Conversion rate x average order value x visitors. Hypothetical example, same review app before and after.
Same traffic. Same review app. $7,140 more a month.
For numbers that aren't hypothetical: a bedding brand with 30+ products rebuilt its top 3 hero pages around the buyer's objections, proof included. Conversion rate went from 1.0% to 3.5%, average order value from $125 to $231. Revenue per visitor moved from $1.25 to $8.10. On 10,000 visitors, that's $12,500 versus $81,000. See the full case study numbers. Real client numbers, not typical results, and not a promise of what your store will do.
Where the proof goes is covered in how to use testimonials on a Shopify product page, and the photo click gap in do customer photos in reviews increase conversion rate.
The app collects the proof. The page decides whether anyone sees it before they leave.
How is AI changing review apps?
Every app in the table now has an AI line on its listing. Loox: smart sorting, highlights, translations, replies. Judge.me: AI replies and summaries on Awesome. Okendo and Yotpo: AI review summaries. Junip: an AI sales agent on Premium that answers shoppers from the reviews.
So the question changes. The old one was "which app makes photos look biggest?" The new one is "which tool reads 400 reviews, finds the objection that keeps coming up, and puts the answer where the buyer is deciding?"
That second job is page work. When we build pages with RevenueFlows AI, the review mining happens before a word of copy is written: pull the objections out, answer each in the order the buyer meets it, then place the proof behind each answer. The full method is in our AI product pages guide, and the wider app field is ranked by revenue per visitor in best Shopify product page apps 2026.

Frequently asked questions
What is the best alternative to Loox?
For most Shopify stores it's Judge.me: unlimited reviews, photo and video reviews and a Loox importer on the free plan, with a $15 a month paid tier. If you sell visual products and want a polished widget, Okendo or Junip. If you want the cheapest photo reviews on a small store, Fera starts at $9 a month.
How much does Loox cost in 2026?
On its Shopify App Store listing, Loox shows a free plan for up to 500 orders, a Convert plan at $49.99 a month that includes 300 orders and adds $50 for every additional 300 orders, and an Unlimited plan at $299.99 a month. Paid plans carry a 14-day free trial.
Is Loox free?
Loox has a free plan, but it caps at 500 orders. Once you pass that, you move to Convert at $49.99 a month plus per-order fees. A store doing 1,500 orders a month pays $249.99 on Convert, which is why many founders start looking at Loox alternatives at that point.
Can I move my Loox reviews to another app?
Yes. Judge.me lists Loox among the apps it imports from, Junip lists imports from Yotpo, Judge.me and Okendo, and most review apps accept a CSV export. Export your reviews, including photos, before you uninstall anything, and check your theme for leftover code after.
Does a review app slow down a Shopify store?
Any app can. Shopify's own speed guide names the apps you've installed as one of the biggest factors in store performance. Measure your top product page with the app on and off instead of trusting any vendor's benchmark, including Loox's.
Which review app is best for photo and video reviews?
Loox built its name on visual reviews, but Judge.me, Okendo, Junip, Fera, Stamped, Yotpo and REVIEWS.io all collect photo and video reviews now. The difference is price and widget design, not whether photos are possible. Check which plan unlocks video before you choose.
