Shopify 40+ Tools inside Vitals. Most stores switch on five.

Vitals App Alternatives for Stores Tired of Bloat

Vitals packs 40+ tools into one $29.99 app, and most stores run five of them. Here are the alternatives worth your money, checked against their App Store listings today, plus the usage fees and the swap plan nobody writes down.

A cluttered navy toolbox with dozens of tools spilling out, and one single orange-lit tool resting clean on the bench beside it.

Forty tools. You're using five.

That's the store I see most often when a founder asks me about Vitals. Reviews on, a bundle widget on, a countdown timer someone switched on for Black Friday 2024 and forgot. The other 35 sit there, paid for.

Here's the short answer on vitals app alternatives. No single app replaces all of Vitals, and you probably don't need one to. Count the tools you actually use, then replace each with a specialist: Judge.me for reviews, Kaching Bundles for bundles and quantity breaks, Microsoft Clarity for free session recordings and heatmaps. If you truly use eight or more Vitals tools, stay put. The app is well rated and the bundle pricing is fair.

But I'll say the part the comparison sites skip. Swapping one toolbox for five tools won't fix a product page that can't sell. We'll get to that.

What does Vitals actually cost in 2026?

First, credit where it's earned. Vitals is one of the most reviewed apps on Shopify. Its App Store listing showed 4.9 stars from 2,962 reviews when I checked it today, with the Built for Shopify badge and a launch date of March 2018. It bundles reviews, bundles and upsells, session recordings, heatmaps, pop-ups, wishlists, back-in-stock alerts, email marketing and 30+ theme sections into one install.

The price is where founders get surprised.

The listing shows one All-in-One plan at $29.99 a month with a 7-day free trial. Then usage fees start once Vitals-attributed sales pass about $1,000 a month. The Vitals pricing page lists six metered items. The biggest one, direct revenue assists, looks like this:

Vitals-attributed sales per month Direct revenue assists fee
$0 to $1,000 $0
$1,000 to $5,000 $40
$5,000 to $10,000 $90
$10,000 to $20,000 $190
$20,000 to $30,000 $290
$30,000 to $40,000 $390
Every extra $10,000 $100 more

Here's the math. If Vitals attributes $12,000 of sales in a month, that meter alone is $190. Add the $29.99 base and you're at $219.99, before conversion assists, recordings, email contacts, leads or shipment tracking. I didn't find a cap on the total listed on that page.

Some merchants noticed. In the 1-star reviews, one from May 2026 complains the flat fee was changed to "$29.99/month + usage." To be fair, 98% of the reviews are 5 stars. Plenty of stores pay the usage fee happily because the tools pay for themselves.

An all-in-one app is a great deal on the tools you use and a quiet tax on the ones you forgot you switched on.

Does Vitals slow down your store?

I'm going to be careful here, because this is where most "vitals shopify app review" posts get lazy.

Vitals says its active tools load in a single request, and only the tools you've switched on get sent. In its performance benchmark it ran Lighthouse on a fresh Dawn store with 28 Vitals apps active and reported a very small impact. I can't verify their test on your theme, and neither can anyone writing a review.

What I can tell you is what Shopify says. Its store speed guide names the apps you've installed as one of the biggest factors in web performance, and tells you to check that each app creates enough value to offset any speed cost. It also warns that uninstalling an app doesn't automatically remove its code from your theme.

So the vitals app speed impact on your store is a number you measure, not one you read. Run Google's PageSpeed test on your top product page with Vitals on, then on a duplicated theme with it off. Same page, same device setting, three runs each. Our Shopify speed audit walks through that test, and the same logic applies to builders in do Shopify page builders slow down your store.

What are the best Vitals app alternatives?

Every listing below was opened on the Shopify App Store today, September 29, 2026. Vitals, Judge.me and Kaching all carry the Built for Shopify badge. Ratings and prices change, so check them again before you install.

App Replaces which Vitals tools Price on the listing Rating (reviews)
Vitals (the baseline) All 40+ $29.99/mo + usage above ~$1K attributed sales 4.9 (2,962)
Judge.me Reviews, photo and video reviews, review requests Free plan, Awesome plan $15/mo 5.0 (47,712)
Kaching Bundles App & Upsells Bundles, quantity breaks, BOGO, free gifts $14.99 to $59.99/mo by extra revenue, 7-day trial 5.0 (6,087)
Microsoft Clarity Session recordings, heatmaps Free 4.6 (2,255)
Hextom: Upsell Sales Boost Upsells, timers, trust badges, labels (all-in-one lite) Free plan, paid $9.99 to $79.99/mo 4.8 (1,525)
Fodane Another 40-app bundle $99.99/mo, 14-day trial 3.3 (10)

Judge.me for reviews

If reviews are the main Vitals tool you use, Judge.me is the obvious swap. 47,712 reviews at 5.0 stars, a free plan, and a $15 Awesome plan. It syncs reviews to Google Shopping and imports from Amazon and Etsy. Move your review data out of Vitals before you uninstall anything.

Kaching Bundles for bundles and quantity breaks

Kaching Bundles App & Upsells does one job deep: bundles, mix-and-match, volume discounts, with built-in A/B testing (judge it the way we judged the best Shopify AB testing apps, on rigor). Its paid plans scale with the extra revenue it drives, $14.99 up to $1,000, $29.99 up to $5,000, $59.99 up to $10,000. That's still a revenue-linked model, so read it the same way you read Vitals. We compared the wider field in our Shopify bundle app alternatives breakdown.

Microsoft Clarity for recordings and heatmaps

Vitals meters visitor recordings past 1,000 page views. Microsoft Clarity is free, with session replays, heatmaps and funnel tracking. For a lot of stores this one swap covers a meter that can quietly add up.

Hextom or Fodane if you want another all-in-one

If you like one app doing many jobs, Hextom: Upsell Sales Boost packs 30+ tools with a free plan and paid tiers from $9.99 to $79.99. Fodane copies the 40-app format at $99.99 a month, but with 10 reviews and a 3.3 rating, I'd let other stores test it first.

Replace the five tools you use. Delete the 35 you don't. That's the whole swap.

How do you switch without breaking your store?

Four steps. I've watched founders skip step one and spend a weekend fixing a broken cart drawer.

  1. Duplicate your live theme. Every change happens on the copy.
  2. List every Vitals tool that's switched on, plus what it earned in the last 90 days.
  3. Install one replacement at a time, starting with reviews, and export your review data first.
  4. Check the theme for leftover code after you uninstall, then re-run your speed test.

Not sure what's running? Paste your store into this free tool and see the whole app stack first.

Why won't 40 tools fix a page that can't sell?

Here's the thing. Every tool in Vitals, and every tool in the table above, is a helper. A timer. A badge. A widget under the add-to-cart button. None of them answer the question your buyer is silently asking on the product page: "Why this one, at this price?"

I get why founders stack apps. Each one promises a little lift, and a little lift feels like progress. But a widget bolted onto a spec-sheet page is a costume on a mannequin. The page still can't close.

Run the math on a store like this, a hypothetical supplement brand selling a $58 magnesium powder. Conversion rate 1.5%, average order value $58. That means revenue per visitor is $0.87. On 10,000 visitors, that's $8,700.

Now the page gets rebuilt to answer the buyer's real question, and a 2-pack becomes the default offer. Conversion rate 2.5%, average order value $74. Revenue per visitor is $1.85. On the same 10,000 visitors, that's $18,500.

Same traffic. No new app. $9,800 more a month.

For numbers that aren't hypothetical: a bedding brand with 30+ products rebuilt its top 3 hero pages. Conversion rate went from 1.0% to 3.5%, average order value from $125 to $231. Revenue per visitor moved from $1.25 to $8.10. On 10,000 visitors, that's $12,500 versus $81,000. See the full case study numbers. Real client numbers, not typical results, and not a promise of what your store will do.

The full equation behind that is in how to increase revenue per visitor on Shopify.

How is AI changing the all-in-one app question?

The all-in-one apps are adding AI too. The Vitals listing now includes an AI page builder, image-to-video and social content tools. Clarity's listing adds AI shopping assistants it calls Brand Agents.

So the question shifts. Wait, let me put it better. The old question was "which app has the most tools?" The new one is "which tool writes the page that sells?" A widget can nudge a buyer who already wants the product. Only the page copy, the offer and the order of the argument can make them want it. That's the job we point AI at when we build pages with RevenueFlows AI, and it's why I stopped judging stores by their app count years ago. We made the same argument in our Zipify alternatives breakdown: a better canvas still needs the right paint.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best alternative to the Vitals app?

There isn't one app that replaces all of Vitals, and that's the point. Most stores use four or five of its 40+ tools, so the best move is to replace those few with specialists: Judge.me for reviews, Kaching Bundles for bundles and quantity breaks, and Microsoft Clarity for free session recordings and heatmaps.

How much does Vitals cost in 2026?

Vitals lists one All-in-One plan at $29.99 a month with a 7-day free trial. Usage fees start once Vitals-attributed sales pass about $1,000 a month. On its pricing page, the direct revenue assists meter runs from $40 at $1,000 to $5,000 in sales up to $390 at $30,000 to $40,000, then $100 for every extra $10,000.

Does Vitals slow down a Shopify store?

Vitals says it loads active tools in a single request and publishes a benchmark showing a small speed impact with 28 apps switched on. Shopify's own help center lists installed apps as one of the biggest factors in store speed. The honest answer is to measure your own store with Vitals on and off, because the result depends on your theme and which tools you run.

Will uninstalling Vitals remove its code from my theme?

Not always. Shopify's help center says uninstalling an app doesn't automatically remove its code from your theme, and you might need the developer's instructions for full removal. Duplicate your theme before you switch anything and check it for leftover snippets after.

Is an all-in-one Shopify app better than separate apps?

An all-in-one app wins when you actively use eight or more of its tools and want one bill. Separate apps win when you use a handful of tools and want the deepest version of each one. Count the tools you switched on in the last 90 days before you decide.
